Maintain a Youthful Appearance Longer

By Fannie Vice

Being beautiful is something most people do to make themselves feel better. It is also important to portray yourself as someone who cares about the way you look. While everyone's idea of beauty is different, it is important to make yourself attractive in order to feel positive about yourself.

Would you like to have attractive lips, but don't want to cake on lipstick or other costly products? Simply use your toothbrush! Gently brush your lips, taking care not to irritate the sensitive skin. This method will get rid of any loose bits of skin that you have and leave your mouth feeling smooth. It will also enhance the pink tone of your lips, allowing you to forgo products like gloss and lipstick. You simply won't need them to look great!

Your nails are another important part of your appearance. Believe it or not, many people will notice the shape of your nails, and you do not want to portray yourself as someone who does not care about their appearance. Keep nails trimmed, polished and filed to make yourself seem even more attractive.

When applying facial powders and blushes, the tiny brushes that are often provided in the compacts is just that - tiny. They tend to be way too small, creating a need for you to spend extra time brushing on the makeup. A simple solution is to use a bigger brush. Not only will it cut down on the time involved, but it will also provide a more even, balanced look to your overall facial makeup.

Choosing and applying makeup that is appropriate for the summer months can be challenging. You will naturally sweat more and your makeup will need to stand up to heat and excessive moisture. Check with your local beauty supply outlets for makeup that falls into the category of "mattifying." These types of cosmetics are designed to absorb excess oils without drying the skin. They control shine and help to create a more natural skin tone. These products are generally oil-free and water-based.

For full body rejuvenation, take a bath with some added honey milk. Add 1 cup of honey and 2 cups of whole milk to your bath. If you have Epsom salt, this also makes a wonderful addition to your soaking. This style of bath can help your skin to detoxify. It exfoliates your skin and acts as a natural healing agent. Add in some additional baking soda to neutralize any damaging acids that can accumulate on your skin for the ultimate cocktail. You will be amazed at how easy and effective a simple honey bath is.

Wearing the right makeup correctly is the next step you should take. If you wear makeup already, but are not sure how to apply it in the most flattering manner, get some advice. The makeup counters in department stores often have beauty consultants who can give you professional advice about the shades most flattering to your skin tone. A basic makeup for day wear is a good place to start, but then also learn how to add a few touches for a night on the town.

Finding the right make-up for your skin type and complexion is critical. Your make-up must properly match your skin color and be formulated to work well with your skin type. Choose colors of blush, eye shadow, liner and mascara that will blend well with your natural colors.

Prior to applying any makeup, you must start with a clean face. Use a gentle cleanser to clean your face thoroughly. Also, be sure to exfoliate your skin at least once a week to keep your complexion as clear and smooth as possible.

Now that you have read this article you know that there are natural things that you can do to look your best. Put the tips you read above to use and find your natural beauty.

Money Spent On Resume Writing Is A Waste

By Kori Zullo

A week ago, I received a call coming from a friend that is a financial planner. He likes to be a real mover and shaker in the local business community, so I can expect to see a lunch invitation once or twice a year. (I'm low on the totem pole on the local business scene.) More often than not, the lunch will normally include three or four people from similar market sectors that my friend is intending to cross network. I always go. In my business, I don't normally do a lot locally, but it's free food.

This occasion, I arrive at a fantastic, sunlit seafood restaurant by the beach to discover my friend sitting with some guy in a suit who he then introduces as a resume writer. The guy in the suit quickly attempts to rebrand himself as being a career coach, although after a few questions, it turns out that the majority of his business is just selling people on the concept that they need a professionally fashioned resume.

Clearly, the thought is that there may well be some working synergy between a recruiter and a resume writer. I can't find fault with my buddy for the logic, it appears to be reasonable. Naturally, both work with people during position change. However, reality is that it couldn't be further from the truth.

The resume writer perpetuates the fable that the resume gets an interview. Further more, they offer the concept that a fancy (high-priced) resume does a much better job. As a recruiter, we detest that brand of belief.

As soon as we begin working with a candidate, we work with a method of focus. The most marketable feats from their work history as it pertains to the job being sought and isolated. These tend to be specific illustrations with numbers. The rest is then minimized, and these success stories are shoved to the front and sold.

Amongst other things, this means that at our direction, the resumes will often be rewritten. Ornate language and terminology is cut. Padding and embellishment is taken off. The resume is turned into a straight forward chronological map which leads from one success to another. It is not difficult to follow confident that it will lead an interviewer into bringing up the best things the job seeker has to offer.

The moral of the story is that headhunters don't believe in elaborate resumes. The resume should be basic and straightforward highlighting achievements that happen to be specific. Resumes are tools to be utilized at an interview, not to get an interview. Don't subscribe to the myth of a $500 resume. It serves up no real advantage.

Top Causes of Homelessness in America

As many as 3.5 million Americans are homeless each year. Of these, more than 1 million are children and on any given night, more than 300,000 children are homeless.
While the general impression is that the homeless are primarily the chronic and episodic, those unfortunate individuals often seen living on the streets in the downtown areas of our cities, the fact is that more than half the homeless are families with children. The vast majority of these have been thrust into homelessness by a life altering event or series of events that were unexpected and unplanned for. Contrary to the belief that homelessness is primarily the result of major traumatic events or physical and mental disabilities, there are many top causes of homelessness in America.

Homelessness is, in fact, caused by tragic life occurrences like the loss of loved ones, job loss, domestic violence, divorce and family disputes. Other impairments such as depression, untreated mental illness, post traumatic stress disorder, and physical disabilities are also responsible for a large portion of the homeless. Many factors push people into living on the street. Acknowledging these can help facilitate the end of homelessness in America.

For those living in poverty or close to the poverty line, an "everyday" life issue that may be manageable for individuals with a higher income can be the final factor in placing them on the street. A broken down vehicle, a lack of vehicle insurance, or even unpaid tickets might be just enough to render someone homeless.

Divorce costs and the associated lowering of a family's total income can cause one or more family members to become homeless. For families that can hardly pay their bills, a serious illness or disabling accident may deplete their funds and push them out onto the street. Today, the rapid, unexpected loss of jobs and resultant foreclosures has caused great dislocation among families and has dramatically added to the number of people without a roof over their heads.

Natural disasters often cause current housing situations to become untenable and costly repairs are often simply not possible. The results of Hurricane Katrina stand in bleak testimony to the power of nature to displace people.

The great challenge for the newly homeless is to figure out how to return to their normal lives. Organizations that build emergency shelters and transitional housing typically work with a larger number of service providers around the country whose mission is to provide the services, such as job training, social skills training, and financial training, that enable these people to regain employment and return to mainstream lives. The progression for these recently homeless is to first be housed in transitional residences where they can learn these skills, to graduate to assisted living in affordable housing while they build up economic reserves and rebuild their employment resume, and then to graduate to full, market rate housing.

Many of these service provider partners are household names, such as Volunteers of America, Rescue Missions, and the Salvation Army. Many others are local organizations formed to address specific homelessness issues in the community. By carefully vetting the qualifications and financial stability of these service providers, organizations that build emergency shelters and transitional housing are able to assure that their facilities are effectively utilized in the fight to end homelessness.
